About Us

Bakas “Horses for Handicapped,” Inc. is a nonprofit 501(c)3 charitable organization (FEIN 59-2848496) whose sole function is to assist with the financial support of Hillsborough County’s Bakas Equestrian Center.

Our Mission

Our mission is to provide therapeutic horseback riding activities for children and adults afflicted with disabilities across a wide spectrum of physical and mental handicaps. Horseback riding activities include recreational riding, lessons, camps, Special Olympics, riding events and challenge shows. We also provide networking, support and social group settings with the goal of further improving the quality of life for our riders.
